In '97 Dragan forced Neki to sung a song or two in russian, just like that ... soon they arranged (guitar, voice) 5 or 6 russian folk songs. The project started - they put it under name Odessa mama, wich is a song of Alexander Rozenbaum. After three or four testin appearance in public, they decided to work more seriously. In winter 1998 - 99 they've recorded seven songs (home studio) and started to use prerecorded drums & bass as playback for public appearances.
In '99 Dragan definitely quit playing with his rock group E-met. In spring Odessa mama started to play on a regular bases, started to earning something (at least). After a good season in autum Dragan met Keza (Dragan 2), the bass player... it soudned great ! In first month they made 20 russian and app. 40 folk balkan songs. Soon Keza introduced Marjan (called Churchill - Čerčil), a tamburica player, who is known as a "folk song ecyclopedia". He used to play with famous tamburica orchester in Vojvodina (part of Serbija).
Last season (first millennium summer) passed away playin' four days a week.
Popolarity has grown, but problems never sleep ... Marjan has a lot of
obligations at home, so he won't play anymore.
